Rope Access Painting – EON Docks

Eon_Dock2

Rope Task completed the slurry blasting and application of the anti-corrosion paint system on the two ship un-loaders at Eon bulk coal terminal, Gladstone Docks, Liverpool. All work was completed on the dock side elevations of the two SUL’s.

Rope Task completed these works as access by means of scaffold or MEWP was too expensive and using rope access techniques enabled the SUL’s to be put back into operation within 48 hours, this could not be achieved if scaffold had been built on the dock side elevation of the cranes.

All slurry blasting and coating application was carried out using rope access techniques which enabled the team to abseil and paint the vertical elevations of the crane and also the boom ties that sat at 45 degree angles some 80 metres above the dock.
