Revitalizing Birmingham's Iconic Selfridges Building
The Selfridges Building in Birmingham stands as a testament to innovative architecture and has become a symbol of the city’s modern identity. Designed by Future Systems and unveiled in 2003, this architectural marvel is adorned with approximately 15,000 anodized aluminium discs, creating a façade that captures the attention of locals and visitors alike. The building played a pivotal role in redefining the city’s skyline, helping shapeit into what it looks like today.

Mullaghglass Quarry – Rope access solutions
Mullaghglass quarry in County Antrim Northern Ireland was the unlikely setting for a large rope access contract completed by Rope Task Limited. Initially the site was an old stone quarry that had been granted planning to turn into a large landfill site.

Rope Access Solutions At Gladstone Docks, Liverpool
Rope Task completed a complex project at E.ON’s bulk coal terminal in Gladstone Docks, Liverpool. Our team handled slurry blasting and applying an anti-corrosion paint system to the dockside elevations of two ship unloaders (SULs). Conventional access methods such as scaffolding or MEWPs were impractical and costly. Rope access provided a safe, efficient solution, ensuring both SULs were operational within 48 hours.

Glazing Replacement at Leeds City College
Rope Task were approached by Dortech – Architectural Glazing Specialist to provide rope access solutions for glazing repairs at Leeds City College. The project involved removing and replacing numerous broken single and double-glazed units from a curtain wall system, where traditional access methods such as MEWPs or scaffolding were either too intrusive or unsuitable due to ground conditions.

Juliet balustrade install Kings Cross, London
Contracting forLaing O’Rourke, we were tasked with the critical job of installing Juliet balustrades on Laings site KXS4 a project that spanned over 10 weeks and involved overcoming significant challenges.

Facade Restoration at Derby Hospital
Rope Task LTD was contracted by Skanska to carry out specialist facade restoration works at Derby Hospital, involving DOFF cleaning and full render repainting. The project covered approximately 500 square metres of exterior surfaces, which had suffered from organic growth, staining, and general weathering over time. Organic Residue in areas was significant, with some sections of the rendered façade having not been maintained in over 18 years.

Precision Rope Access Solutions at Beetham Tower
Rope Task completed a challenging project at Beetham Tower, the tallest in Manchester at the time. Also known as Hilton Manchester, the skyscraper features a mix of hotel and residential spaces. Due to its height and complex structure, traditional access methods were not viable. Our team was engaged to assist with high-level glass replacements and the install of stitch plates to secure the glass, across multiple elevations using advanced rope access techniques.
